Epicurean School Culinary Arts

Would you like to be a chef in your own restaurant or work at a 5 star restaurant in a big city? Maybe you would like to create sugar art and specialize in deserts. There are many braches you can pursue in the culinary arts and the foundation for whatever you choose is a solid education.

One of the most prestigious culinary arts schools in the United States is the Epicurean School located in Los Angeles, California. The Epicurean School was established in 1985 by graduates of the renowned Culinary Institute of America. The curriculum at the culinary school is based on that taught at the Culinary Institute but more of a condensed version.

The Epicurean school has become well known for its French cooking techniques. The techniques are extensive in scope and yet able to be learned by both full and part time students. The educational offerings at the Epicurean school are actually divided into several different sections. The first two deal with being a professional chef, there are three that deal with learning all about baking and there is a section devoted to cake decorating as well.

The cake decorating classes teach students the basics of cake decorating from the most simple of cakes all the way to elaborate spectacular special event cakes.

The main focus of study at the school is classic French cuisine. Students are given the training they need to become professional chefs, or just to cook like a professional chef. The professional chef sections are designed for the student who is serious about pursuing a career as a professional chef.

The Epicurean School also offers beginner classes which teach students the basics of cooking and how to handle kitchen equipment in the proper way. These classes prepare the beginning cook for taking the higher level professional chef courses.

All of the classes offered at the school give students plenty of hands on learning which allows them to experience cooking like a pro. If you are considering a career as a chef or in another area of the culinary arts, you would be making a good choice to attend the Epicurean School.
